Coding for Dummies?

Posted in Business of Medicine at 8:14 pm by David Theige, MD

Our residents usually seem bored to tears with our introductory explanations of coding. That’s why I was delighted when a recent graduate called about a year ago to tell us that his fellowship program faculty were impressed with his coding acumen–and that they wanted him to teach the rest of the fellows! Nonetheless, I believe that we tend to make the subject much too dry and complicated. Hi I am in an accelerated coding course. I just want to know if there is a book or reference guide out there that can break the rules of coding down so that they can be better understood. I would be very grateful for the info.

    Thanks ,
